General groundworks

Example #1

The scenario

General
groundworks

You have to dig half of ditch (1) from position (2) and include the berm (2) at height.

– You dig the rest of ditch (1) from position (3) from the side.

– You finish berm (3) at height.

General groundworks

Example #1

The engcon solution

You dig out the entire ditch above the ditch.

You have a better view of your work and it is easier because you can follow the lines of the ditch you have already done.

You immediately take the berm (2) to the height with the released material.

If you have too much material, throw it directly onto the berm (3).

You have a better view of your work and it is easier because you can follow the lines of the ditch you have already done.

General groundworks

Example #2

THE SCENARIO

General
groundworks

When digging piles, the machine with a fixed bucket can only dig along the piles and not around them.

General groundworks

Example #2

The engcon solution

With a tiltrotator on the excavator, the operator can dig away everything around the piles and a ground worker is not necessarily needed for clearing the area.

General
groundworks

General groundworks

Example #3

The scenario

General
groundworks

During excavation of the sheet pile wall, it's necessary to clear the sheet pile grooves.

The conventional method involves positioning the excavator perpendicular to the wall and using a narrow bucket to empty the grooves.

This procedure requires extra machine maneuvers, resulting in longer operation times and increased manual labor.

General groundworks

Example #3

The engcon solution

With the tiltrotator attached, you can stay stationary and use it to tilt and rotate your bucket for precise excavation within the grooves of the sheet piles.

With minimal manual work left to be done, this will save both time and manual labor.

General groundworks

Example #4

The scenario

General
groundworks

The machine is very limited when moving goods, because you can only stand in front of it from one position.

This means you are always forced to move the machine every time.

General groundworks

Example #4

The engcon solution

A tiltrotator makes the use of pallet forks even more efficient and flexible, because the machine can pick up and put down the material from all positions.

Sewage works

Example #1

The scenario

Sewage works

Preparing for installing sewage at a construction site.

The sewage pipes are strapped on by a worker on top and lowered down with the excavator into the ground.

A second worker in the trench handles the fitting of the sewage pipe.

Sewage works

Example #1

The engcon solution

With the detatchable gripper on the tiltrotator, the excavator operator can easily pick up the sewage pipe and place it with precision in the trench.

With this, you only need one ground worker in the trench to handle the installation. This makes the job site safer and the installation faster.

Sewage works

Sewage works

Example #2

THE SCENARIO

Sewage works

Replacing old sewer pipes is a hassle. A ground worker has to dig around the pipe, so a chain can be attached for extraction. In good conditions, this is an arduous task at best.

The excavator operator then waits for the ground worker to finish, a task that easily can take 15 minutes per tube, until the chain is on.

To speed up this process you can somtimes use the bucket and and pry it loose. Not always possible due to crossing cables and pipes.

Sewage works

Example #2

The engcon solution

With engcon’s detachable gripper, you can just pick up the pipe. No manual labor required.

Thanks to the tiltrotator you can manouver the pipe even in tricky situations, where the excavator operator can avoid crossing cables an pipes.

The time savings here are huge. Less manual labor wich reduces both cost and increases safety.

Sewage works

Sewage works

Example #3

The scenario

Sewage works

During the sewer renovation, the old sewer must be removed. To pull it out, a ground worker must connect the pipe at the bottom of the trench. The excavator can then gently pull the pipe out.

Because a ground worker need to perform the work in the trench, It will increase the risk to safety.

Sewage works

Example #3

The engcon solution

With a tiltrotator, the excavator can dig the pipe freely from one position and no groundworker is needed to connect it, because this tiltrotator is equipped with a gripper cassette.

The operator can carry out all work from his cabin and no ground workers need to be present in the trench. This ensures optimal safety.

Sewage works

Sewage works

Example #4

THE SCENARIO

Sewage works

During the installation of new sewerage, two ground workers are needed to guide the crane in installing the sewer pipe.

Sewage works

Example #4

The engcon solution

With a tiltrotator and gripper, the operator can easily pick up and place the sewage pipe in the ditch. In this case the main task for a ground worker is to give directions for the correct placement.

Landscaping

Example #1

The scenario

Landscaping

When excavating the extension, space was very limited.
You want to excavate the ring beam as tightly as possible, otherwise you will have to fill in a lot again after pouring the foundation beam

LANDSCAPING

Example #1

The engcon solution

With the tiltrotator he could dig a straight trench anywhere even though he was not standing directly in front of it. This made excavating the foundation very easy and saved time.

It also saved the removal of soil that you might have had to replenish later.

LANDSCAPING

Landscaping

Example #2

The scenario

Landscaping

A golf course often has special contours and shapes. It is difficult to create these contours with an excavator with a fixed bucket. You also have to move a lot of machines, which means that the grass is more likely to be damaged (around the work).

For a neat finish, it requires a lot of manual work if it is excavated with only an excavator and bucket.

LANDSCAPING

Example #2

The engcon solution

With a tiltrotator, contours and shapes can be detailed from one position. This ensures that you damage the surface as little as possible.

It also saves a lot of time, because you can make everything easier and more flexible.

LANDSCAPING

Landscaping

Example #3

The scenario

Landscaping

When making stone walls, a thumb gripper on the boom of the machine is often used. The machine is limited in placing the stones because it can only stand directly in front of them.

There is often a lot of manual work involved in positioning the machine. Entrapment is also a major risk for employees.

LANDSCAPING

Example #3

The engcon solution

With a tiltrotator, the machine is much more flexible when placing the stones. He no longer has to stand directly in front of the wall but can place the stones from any position. With the removable gripper cassette, the operator can place the stones very precisely without having to steer through any earthworks.

The tiltrotator allows the operator to rotate the stones 360 degrees and place them under a slope with the stone/sorting grab. This allows him to place the machine much more accurately and there is no manual work.

Because no ground workers are needed, there is no risk of entrapment for employees.

LANDSCAPING

Urbanization

Example #1

The scenario

Urbanization

During the work, there had to be enough space for the excavator to do its work. As a result, a road had to be closed so that the work could be done safely and properly.

To be allowed to do this, permits and additional costs are often involved.

Urbanization

Example #1

The engcon solution

With the use of a tiltrotator, the excavator can do its work in very limited space. This means that no road closures are necessary and work can be done safely.

With the correct configuration, the operator can also change attachments without leaving the cab.

URBANIZATION

Urbanization

Example #2

The scenario

Urbanization

A residential area in the city is often very compact and gives the excavator limited space to move freely.

This will create more handwork and will take more time to finish.

Urbanization

Example #2

The engcon solution

By using a tiltrotator, the operator is able to apply the sand to the correct profile and height from different positions.

This means minimal manual work, which saves a lot of time and costs.

URBANIZATION

Urbanization

Example #3

The scenario

Urbanization

A lot of manual work is required to raise the sand in the pavement, partly due to the limited flexibility of the machine.

With a fixed bucket you'll miss the flexibility, which means that precise work and finishing the sand is often manual work.

Urbanization

Example #3

The engcon solution

With a tiltrotator you can apply sand very accurately and bring it to the correct height and profile.

This saves manual work and saves time.

URBANIZATION

Engcon example

Urbanization

Example #4

The scenario

Urbanization

Space is often very limited during work in residential areas. As a result, the machine cannot always get straight to its work.

This means that the work takes longer and involves a lot of manual work.

Urbanization

Example #4

The engcon solution

With a tiltrotator, the machine is very flexible, and all work can be done from one position. This makes the work faster and saves a lot of manual labor.

In addition, it increases safety, because the machine requires less movement in a small space.

URBANIZATION

Urbanization

Example #5

The scenario

Urbanization

Backfilling a sewer trench must always be done in layers to compact each layer.

The excavator adds a layer of soil. Then lifts the manual plate compactor into the trench and the worker starts compacting.

When the ground has been compacted, the manual plate compactor is lifted from the trench and the next level of soil is filled.

This is time consuming for the excavator driver and the manual labor in the pit. It’s also a concern for safety when lifting the manual compactor.

Urbanization

Example #5

The engcon solution

With the engcon compactor plate the operator can do everything himself.

The time spent lifting the manual compactor, waiting for the workers to get up and down in the trench, is now gone.

Switching between the bucket and the engcon compactor is done in less than 30 seconds. So switching between filling and compacting is quick.

This increases safety, saves on having a ground worker (around 40 euros per hour) and the excavator driver is more efficient and productive with the machine.

URBANIZATION

Road construction

Example #1

THE SCENARIO

Road construction

Placing curb stone is normally done manually by two pavers with curb pliers.

The have to pick up the stones and place them along the path.
A heavy, time consuming task.

ROAD CONSTRUCTION

Example #1

The engcon solution

With the gripper, the operator can pick up and place the curbs along the guiding rope.

Thanks to the tiltrotator, the positioning of the curbs can be very precise.

The only thing the paving contractor have to do is to make the underlay. This saves a lot of heavy manual labor and time.

Road construction

Road construction

Example #2

THE SCENARIO

Road construction

Placing wooden dragline mats requires good spacing and precise positioning, to make this temporary road safe for heavy equipment.

You need a pallet fork to lift the dragline mats and a worker needs to align these, with a 2-step lifting chain, into place.

Disregarding the cumbersome and sometimes dangerous work this entails, it’s also quite time consuming.

ROAD CONSTRUCTION

Example #2

The engcon solution

Equipped with engcon’s tiltrotator and pallet forks, this whole manouver can be done from the comfort of you excavator cab.

With the tiltrotator you can precisely lift and place these wooden dragline mats, in any direction.

Yep, that’s it.

Road construction

Road construction

Example #3

THE SCENARIO

Road construction

Cleaning and maintaining road sides can be done in different ways.

A tractor equipped with a sweeping broom, sweeping vacuum vehicle or a ground worker with a broom.

ROAD CONSTRUCTION

Example #3

The engcon solution

The detachable sweeper cassette transforms your excavator into a road cleaning machine.

Besides picking up debris along the road, you also have the option to clear out denser and hard to sweep material with the bucket.

Making this a perfect road companion.

Road construction

Road construction

Example #4

THE SCENARIO

Road construction

The placing of basalton blocks is carried out here by ground workers. This requires heavy manual labor and is extremely time consuming.

To carry this out properly, several employees are required for a longer period of time, resulting in high costs and a lot of time.

ROAD CONSTRUCTION

Example #4

The engcon solution

With an excavator and tiltrotator you can rotate and tilt the marginal clamp to the correct slope and position.

This allows the blocks to be placed very precisely and marginally.

This also saves a lot of manual labor.
